ADA & accessibility
Everyone in Northridge should be able to use this site
We build for WCAG 2.1 AA and we want to hear about anything that gets in your way.
Our commitment
Local Northridge is built to be usable by everyone in the Valley, including neighbors who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification or voice control. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
What we do
Every page uses one main landmark and a logical heading order. Photos carry descriptive alt text. Text and controls are tested for contrast. Every interactive element can be reached and operated with the keyboard, with a visible focus ring. Nothing depends on color alone, and the layout reflows down to a 320px screen.
Business listings
We ask every business to tell us about step-free entrances, accessible restrooms, accessible parking and service-animal policy, and we publish what they report. If a listing is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
Known gaps
Embedded YouTube videos use YouTube's own player, which we don't control. Captions depend on the channel that posted the video; we caption everything we produce ourselves.
Report a barrier
Email access@localnorthridge.com with the page and what went wrong. We reply within three business days and aim to fix confirmed barriers within ten.
